Kara’s Fourth Japanese Single “Go Go Summer” Sets a Remarkable Record

According to the website of Japan’s Recording Industry Association, Kara’s fourth Japanese single “Go Go Summer” that had released on June 15 achieved the Double Platinum, a kind of medal given for albums which sold over 500,000 copies in Japan, even higher than the honored Platinum level.
“Go Go Summer” also won the Platinum in the music-download category with more than 250,000 people downloading the song onto their computers.
With all these combined, the certified number of Kara’s songs (“Mr.,” “Jumping,” “Jet Coaster Love,” and “Go Go Summer”) downloaded onto their computers and cell phones is 4,350,000. This is a remarkable record for a Korean girl group to make in 15 months since it debuted in Japan.
According to the standard set up by the Association, Kara’s “Mr.” was downloaded 1,750,000 times, “Jumping” 1,250,000 times, “Jet Coaster Love” 350,000 times and “Go Go Sumer” 1,000,000 times. If things continue as they are going, Kara is likely to achieve even a higher level of accreditation.
Kara’s fifth Japanese single “Winter Magic” as well kicked off a good start by ranking second on the Oricon Daily Chart.
